My surprise

Good morning stampers. In my last post I said that I had a big surprise for today. Well Sunday Stamp, a blog that I have been following and posting to asked me to be a guest designer.Yey!!!  This is the first blog that has noticed my work so thanks for the opportunity.I had a lot of ideas that popped into my head and all of them were while I was somewhere else. When I got home and tried to work it out on paper they were gone. So now I have started keeping my sketch book with me. Here is the design challenge sketch and the card I came up with.
I used a new stamp set that I got from Stampin Up. I even tried make it a card using only stamping up but the die is from spellbinders. The card stock and ribbon are all Stampin Up. I have never order ribbon from Stampin Up so I thought since they were running a special I would try it out I think I might be hooked. Well that's all or now. I plan to do a card using some new products from Papertrey Ink later on today I will post what I come up with afterwards.
Have a Great Day

Another Challenge post

Hello stampers back again with a quick post. I decided to add a card to Sunday Stamp challenge. This is a stamp set that I got a while back from stampin up. The challenge was to use the colors, pool party, melon mambo and black. I also used a stamp set that I got from Simon says stamp in the center of the flower. When I stamped the flower I stamped off on a piece of paper first so the flower would be lighter and you would be able to read the the stamp that is in the middle. The melon mambo was cut using a framelit from Stampin Up and the black one was cut using one of my nestabilities. For the base of the card I added texture using an embossing folder from Stampin Up.
I'm glad you stopped by to take a peek so check back on Sunday and I will have a surprise that I am truly excited about.

Sketch Challenge

I can't believe that it's been so long since a added a post to my blog. I have really been busy changing my stamps around and moving them from the wall to my new Alex drawer that I got at Ikea.   I have done quite a few cards since my last post so I have plenty to show you.Can you believe it is already August! School has started back so the time is going to fly by especially in the afternoon. The next thing you know it will be getting dark early which I dread because the nights seem to be so long.
I have still found some time to surf and look at some of the other blogs to see what kind of inspiration I could get.
Checking Sunday Stamps blog I wanted to see what the challenge was going to be and submit a card. Halloween is coming up so I decided to use the cute stamps that I found at Michaels in the dollar bin.The background stamp is by Hero Arts. The embossing powder is by Zig and the punch I used is by EKSucess. I added the squiggly eyes to give it some movement. All the card stock was from Stampin Up. I think this one came out pretty good considering that I don't do many Halloween cards only for my grand kids to take to school. Anyway, I hope you like the card and I will post some more cards that I have made tomorrow.

Christmas in August #2

This is another quick and easy card with the Christmas theme. The stamp set is by inkadikado and is one of the sets that I have not used. The paper was torn to give the appearance of hills. Dazzling diamonds from Stampin Up adds a little sparkle for detail. The  snowflake embossing folder is one that I purchased last year from Cuttlebug. The design was also contains Night of Navy by stampin up. If you would like to know the exact names of the products used just leave me a comment. Thanks for taking a peek today and I will try to post again tomorrow.

Christmas in August

Today I am posting a Christmas card that I made. It is just around the  corner and will be here before we know it. Besides that you can never have too many. I got this stamp set from my demo Esther Boyle because it was retiring and I've had my eyes on it every since it came out. I think it is called serene snowflakes but I am sure. Well wouldn't you know it the have another set of snowflakes in the new catalogue that are even more gorgeous! Oh well add it to the wish list.
I also got to play around with the Tim Holtz Distressed inks and I am starting to get use to sponging with a light touch. I found some more sets of Christmas stamps that are just waiting for me to open them so don't be surprised if you see more Christmas cards this week. Thanks for stopping by please leave me a comment.

Today's card was made with a challenge in mind from over at Sunday Stamps challenge blog. I have a new stamp set that I'm using called Fine Feathers which will make a good masculine. First I punchd my ovals and stamped the feathers in black, theywere colored using  my markers and blender pen. For the largest oval I used a layer technique that I saw over at frenchies stamps which was also used on a previous card post. I think it makes an interesting focal point on the card.

 Supplies used:
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Crumb Cake,Old Olive,Very Vanilla and Black
Markers: Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie, daffodil Delight
Embossng folders: Fancy Fan and Square Lattice folders
All  supplies are by Stampin Up

Hello Card

Hello stampers it been a few days since I did a post and card so I though I would add one today. I have had this idea in my head for a few days but couldn't find time to sit down and make the card until today. The card sketch that I used is from Sunday Stamps blog and I had planned to post for this weeks challenge but didn't quite make the deadline.
I am still stuck on the new in colors. I think its because of the new style of ink and the coverage that I get compared to the old ink. I used two different sizes of punches and stamped the design twice, once in color and one in black on vanilla card stock. Taking the colored circles I punched them out in different positions to create movement in the design of the card.
I think the card came out pretty good. Here is a list of supplies that I used for this card all are from Stampin Up unless otherwise listed. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I will try to do another post tomorrow along with a card or two.

Stamp set:  Circle Circus
Card stock:  Black, Very Vanilla, Gumball Green,
  DSP:          Floral District
Punches:  1" circle, 3/4" circle
Ribbon:    1/8" organdy ribbon Lucky Limeade

Monday cards

Good evening everybody. I saw the cutest card today on a video by frenchiestamps she has some really neat cards and I loved to hear her demonstrate how it is done. I didn't have that stamp set she used so I had to improvise. I think mine came out pretty good so I might try it in different colors. It seems to work for any occasions.  My stamping goodies came in today so I will be having fun tomorrow. I can't wait to use the new Lacey and Lovely set I think it will look good in the new midnight muse color. I also got the Fine Feathers set which will make some nice masculine cards. The new Reason to Smile set is a great deal in the promotion this month for only five dollars with a fifty dollar order.

Ok here are the cards that I made for today.I tried it with two different color mats and to me it is a big difference. I didn't have the same flowers but this works well for both. I will be back tomorrow and I hope everyone had a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

I thought I would try something different today. I was surfing the blogs and found one named Sunday Stamps that had a challenge using the new Stampin Up incolors. Since I have been making some cards with the incolors decided to post this card. I like the fact that you don't have to use all Stampin Up products because I like to branch out a little.I posted this card here a couple days ago but here it is again.

. Have a great day.

I just had to show you this card today. Last night we had First FridayStamp Club at Esthers. We had been looking at this card for a few weeks and Esther we could do it for one of our cards at club. There were a lot of pieces to this card  thirteen to be exact so it is safe to say that this isn't a card to mass produce.  I really like the antique look of this card maybe I will try one more.

The stamp set is Artistic Etchings

Have a great Saturday!

Well we made it through Monday again I hope everyone had a great weekend.  For my post today I want to show you some cards that a friend of mine and I made. When Wanda Plonk and I get together we always come up with some good ideas. From the start we decided that we were going to use only Stampin Up products and we almost did. Since we both got the new in colors cardstock and ink pad kit we decided to try them out along with the designer series paper called Floral District. Before we knew it five hours had passed but we came up with some pretty good designs.  I will list all the products that we used with each photo.

 Happy birthday Card:
Stamp set:  Betsy’s Blossoms
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Very Vanilla
Designer paper: Floral District
Ink: Rich Razzelberry, Gumball  Green, Summer Starfruit
Punches: Modern label, 2 ½ “circle punch

For this card we went outside the box so to speak. The chevron pattern was made with stamps from papertrey ink. I’m not sure but I think the birthday wishes might be retired.

Birthday Wishes Card:
Stamp Set: Quint-Essential Flower, Background chevronstripes: papertrey ink
Cardstock:  Primrose Petals, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White,
Ink Colors: Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Primrose  Petal, Raspberry Ripple
Punches: Decorative label, 1 3/4” scallop circle, 1”, ¾”and ½” circle punch
The ribbon is ½” seam binding that we dyed using gumball green.  I came out really dark because we used the ink pad instead of using reinker.

I will post two more cards tomorrow, thanks for stopping by.

Well it time to crank up the blog again. I am going to try one more time to post every day.  I look at different blogs everyday for card inspiration and sometimes I find myself getting angry because there isn’t a new post for the day. This is no joke trying to do a card and post everyday to help inspire someone else. So thanks to the crafting bloggers that can keep up with the pace of one or even two or three blogs going on in a week.
Ok for my post today, let me just say that I like using a lot of different brands I finally got my hands on the new ink pad in colors from Stampin Up and they are really hot. This is truly a great improvement. The colors are rich and the coverage is awesome. I also have one of the new stamp sets called Summer Silhouettes. If you like you can go over to my demonstrators site and view the  Stampin Up products.
I made several sketches that I want to try with them. For my first card I used lucky limeade, crumb cake, summer starfruit, raspberry ripple and very vanilla. I used the top notes bigz die for my stamping surface in very vanilla. The leaves on the front I tried to create some dimension by stamping off once for one set of leaves and then stamping again for the other set.  I used the new Fancy fan folder for the background layer which also matches one of the stamps in the Summer Shilouettes stamp set.
If you would like leave me a comment and a link to your page so I can stop by.  Thanks for stopping by.
