I know it has been a while since my last post but I didn't realize how long. It is hard to grab a minute to post during the summer with trying to figure out what I am gonna do to keep my son busy. I have had some Father's day cards on my mind but I am just getting the time to make them. I tell myself that I am gonna start early and not rush to get them done but it never works out that way. I have broken my camera so I am trying to take pictures with my iphone to post. They aren't perfect but I think you will be able to tell. A new camera is on my wish list.
I have several JustRite stamps that I have purchased. One set works really good for a masculine card. The set is called " By the sea " and it is pretty when you color it with copic makers. I am gonna post a few more cards that I have made tomorrow and Monday. This is the first one I hope that you will leave me a comment. Thanks have a great day!

The graduating class of 2011
The card for today is for a graduation. I like to try and use the school colors when I can to make it more personal. This card is for a graduate of NCCU (North Carolina Central University). Their colors are maroon and gray. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between maroon and Burgundy? I am thinking they are in the same color family but one is a little darker. This card is for a man so I hope the ribbon doesn't make it seem to girly. I thought it would look more formal with the ribbon but I could be wrong. I used the Fancy tags two and three from nestabilities, the 5x7 holly ribbons folder by cuttlebug and card stock is bazzill.

I know that I have been missing a few days but I had a lot of Mother's day cards to finish. I did a couple of friendship cards also and now it is time to think about what to make for Father's day. I have been looking at different blogs for inspiration and of course I checked out Becca Feekens to see what she comes up with. I have always wondered how to make borders come out even using all the border punches that I have. Well today see shows you how to figure it out with a tutorial. I have a couple of ideas that I want to try it out on. I will try to post some more cards later.

Coloring with copics
These are all the designs that I colored today to get ready to go onto cards. I am getting better with practice so it doesn't take me a long. Now I have to decide what colors to use with each one. I have set a goal to finish all these cards tomorrow. On top of that I have four birthday cards to make. This will make for a full day. Spring break is over so that will give me some extra time without distractions. I will post some of the cards later.

Another card for Mother's Day
Here is a different card today. I used a napkin for the background on this one too. The fairy is a digital design from Mo's digital pencil shop. There are a lot of designs to choose from and they are easy to download. You can find Mo's here. All the other paper is by Bazzill and the stones are from Michaels in the dollar bins. I used my Copic markers to color the design. The punch is from Stampin Up and the border design for the fairy is by nestabilities labels twenty one.I have to finish a lot of cards by Tuesday so back to work. Have a great Saturday!

Mother's Day take 3
Thursday, April 28, 2011
Here is another Mother's Day card. This card was made using supplies from Stampin Up, Martha Stewart and Bo Bunny. The bow I learned to make from Becca Feeken Amazing Paper Grace . I like to follow her blog and see what she comes up with next. I had my husband make me a bow maker like the one she uses and it is awesome. Here is the card for today.

First day back
I have been working on my blog for a while and I finally got it to look like I wanted, for now. I have been working on some Mother;s day cards and this is a quick one that came to me. I saw a card that used the ornament punch from STAMPIN' UP and glitter to add some bling. Well not try it with the heart punch.
To create the area to glitter just punch out the heart and on the backside use box tape to cover where you punched.Turn it back over to the front and sprinkle glitter over the sticky tape that is exposed. I used the stamp Wonderful Mother from the set Well Scripted. Then just mount it on crumb cake card stock and early espresso using STAMPIN' UP dimensionals, covered the front of the card with dotted swiss paper and added some lace that I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby. This is a standard A2 card.
I have several other cards that I have done for Mother's day I will post the later. See ya tomorrow.
